General Questions

What are Gel Blasters?

Gel blasters are toy guns designed to shoot water-based, non-toxic gel balls. These electric blasters launch eco-friendly gel pellets, approximately 7-8mm in size, which burst upon impact, leaving no mess and causing minimal discomfort.

Gel blasters are available in various models and designs, from spring-loaded pistols to high-speed rifles.

They are commonly used for fun activities such as backyard battles, target shooting, and organized gel blaster events. Whether you enjoy solo shooting practice or thrive in tactical team play, there’s a gel blaster perfectly suited for your next exciting adventure.

Why is there ammunition residue in my magazine?

Each of our products undergoes individual testing to guarantee top quality and performance. As part of this process, some ammunition residue may occasionally be left in the magazine.

We appreciate your understanding and assure you this is a normal part of our quality control procedure.

How does a gel blaster work?

Gel blasters use compressed air to launch small, water-based gel balls at high speeds. Upon impact, these gel balls burst, leaving behind a harmless, jelly-like residue that dissolves quickly.

While the specific mechanics can vary by model, the general operation follows a similar process:

1. Soaking:
Gel blasters use super absorbent polymer (SAP) balls that must be soaked in water before use. This allows the balls to expand to their full size and achieve a soft, safe consistency. Proper soaking ensures they are safe to shoot and minimizes the chance of injury. Always use gel balls designed specifically for gel blasters.

2. Loading:
Once hydrated, the gel balls are loaded into a magazine or reservoir, which feeds them into the firing mechanism. It's essential to follow the manufacturer’s instructions during this step to prevent loading issues.

3. Propulsion:

  • Spring-powered blasters: Use a compressed spring to launch the gel balls.
  • Electric blasters: Rely on a motor and gears to propel the gel balls at rapid speeds.

4. Firing:
When the trigger is pulled, the mechanism releases pressure, sending the gel ball down the barrel. Depending on the model, gel blasters may feature different firing modes, such as semi-automatic or burst fire.

Are gel blasters the same as airsoft guns?

While gel blasters and airsoft guns may look alike and serve as recreational shooting devices, they differ significantly in terms of ammunition, safety, and overall experience.

    Ammunition:

    • Gel blasters fire soft, water-absorbent gel balls, typically 7-8mm in diameter.
    • Airsoft guns shoot solid plastic pellets (BBs), generally 6mm in size.

    Safety:

    • Gel blasters are considered safer due to their softer projectiles and lower velocity. The gel balls burst on impact, releasing water and leaving no residue or risk of injury.
    • Airsoft guns, on the other hand, fire hard plastic BBs that can leave welts or bruises, especially at close range. Protective gear is often recommended for airsoft to prevent injuries.

    Gameplay and Experience:

    • Gel blasters are often viewed as a more casual, family-friendly option with minimal mess and lower impact, making them suitable for younger players or light-hearted games.
    • Airsoft guns provide a more intense and realistic experience, often involving structured games with detailed obstacles and scenarios. The higher impact adds to the challenge and authenticity but may not be ideal for all ages.

Are gel blasters the same as paintball?

While both gel blasters and paintball guns fire projectiles, they use different types of ammunition and technology, leading to distinct gameplay experiences.

Paintball guns shoot round capsules filled with water-soluble dye that burst on impact, leaving a visible mark. This makes paintball ideal for competitive play but can result in bruises or welts due to the higher impact of the shots.

Gel blasters, by contrast, fire soft, water-absorbent polymer gel balls that disintegrate into water upon impact. They leave little to no mess and are generally less painful, making them a safer and more accessible option for casual play or younger participants.

If you prefer a lower-impact, less messy experience, gel blasters are the better choice. However, for a more intense and competitive environment, paintball may be more appealing.

How to maintain a gel blaster?

Proper maintenance is essential to keep your gel blaster performing at its best and to extend its lifespan. Just like airsoft guns, gel blasters benefit from regular care and upkeep.

    Key maintenance tasks include:

    • Cleaning the barrel: Regularly clear the barrel of debris or leftover gel residue to prevent blockages and ensure accurate firing.
    • Lubricating moving parts: Apply a small amount of suitable lubricant to gears, slides, and other moving components to reduce friction and wear.
    • Replacing worn components: Inspect parts periodically and replace any worn or damaged pieces to maintain reliability.

Always refer to your gel blaster’s manual for specific maintenance instructions tailored to your model. Proper care ensures smoother operation and enhances the overall longevity of your equipment.

    Are gel blasters legal?

Gel blasters, also known as gel guns, electric guns, or gelsoft, have grown increasingly popular among hobbyists and enthusiasts globally. However, despite being classified as toy guns, their rising popularity highlights the importance of understanding the legal regulations surrounding their ownership, use, and sale.

Laws regarding gel blasters can vary significantly by country, state, or region. In some areas, they are treated similarly to airsoft guns or paintball markers, while in others, stricter regulations may apply due to their resemblance to real firearms.

It’s essential to check local laws and regulations before purchasing or using a gel blaster to ensure compliance and avoid legal issues.

    Are gel blaster guns loud?

Gel blasters do produce some noise, but they are generally much quieter than other toy guns or real firearms.

The sound from gel blasters mainly comes from the internal gears and pistons, not from the muzzle or the projectiles being fired. On average, gel blasters generate noise in the range of 70-80 decibels, comparable to a vacuum cleaner. For comparison, real firearms can produce noise levels of 140-160 decibels, which is loud enough to cause hearing damage.

Noise levels can vary between different gel blaster models and brands, allowing you to choose one that fits your preferences.

Gel blasters are an excellent choice for backyard games or target practice without creating significant noise disturbance. However, it’s advisable to check local regulations and remain considerate of noise levels, especially in residential areas.

What are the different types of gel blasters?

Gel blasters come in a variety of styles and functionalities, primarily categorized by their power source and firing mechanism. Each type offers a unique experience tailored to different playstyles and preferences.

    1. Electric Gel Blasters:

    • Best for: Tactical battles and rapid-fire scenarios.
    • Features: Electric gel blasters use a battery-powered motor to automate firing, allowing for rapid, continuous shots with minimal manual effort. They are perfect for intense skirmishes and fast-paced games.

    2. Spring-Powered Gel Blasters:

    • Best for: Precision and classic shooting experiences.
    • Features: These blasters require manual cocking before each shot, similar to traditional bolt-action or pump-action firearms. They are known for their accuracy and are favored by players who enjoy a more deliberate, skill-based playstyle.

    3. Manual Gel Blasters:

    • Best for: Younger players or casual, low-intensity gameplay.
    • Features: Simple and easy to use, manual gel blasters rely solely on physical force to fire each shot. They are lightweight and often less powerful, making them a safer option for beginners and children.

Whether you prefer rapid-fire action, precise shooting, or a relaxed playstyle, there’s a gel blaster suited to your needs.

By understanding these different types and their features, you can choose the perfect gel blaster to match your playing style and preferences.
